The house has been empty for four years. The previous occupants still owned the house for the time being, so they gave us permission to be there.
The house soon filled with 100+ people attending the event.
It was a great night. We sparked a lot of talk in the community. Some future steps to take can be:
-Ask the city to use eminent domain to claim empty houses to add to the affordable housing stock.
-Call for a city-wide review of Duluth's housing stock.
-Have the City of Duluth declare that housing is a human right.
